Customer Rating: Summary: If you have trouble with the low strings..... Comment: I use a pt-2 to tune my yamaha bass. I removed one of the rubber pads off the clamp because (duh) rubber is a good sound insulator. Works much better. I put a piece of masking tape on it to prevent scratching.
Customer Rating: Summary: Intellitouch PT1 Tuner Comment: Intellitouch PT1 Tuner
This is the WORST tuner I have ever owned. It is insensitive and inaccurate - a piece of junk and a waste of money.
It is cheaply constructed and takes ages to find the note - especially on the lower guitar strings (it never even found low E on my Washburn electric!). Save your money and buy a BOSS or KORG - with a pickup if you need to tune up in a noisy environment.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works Great and Easy to Use Comment: I use this to tune up among other guitarists in a sometimes noisy room. Works great with no interference. Easy to read, easy to understand, easy to attach and remove. Comes with an unexpectedly nice case for it too. The attachment clamp opens to a total width of 7/8 inch (about 2.5 centimeters).
Customer Rating: Summary: Great tuner! Comment: I have used many tuners and the PT1 to be one of the best for tuning acoustic guitars under any conditions. It's size makes it very convenient to use and it comes with a nice, easy to use storage case (that still shows no signs of wear). I purchased one of these when they first came out and a few years later I purchased a second to keep with my other guitar. The batteries last a very long time, in fact, within the last few weeks I finally replaced them in my older unit (after years of use).
I did have a problem where a clamp broke after several years. I contacted the company and they promptly sent me a new clamp with no hassles at no cost to me, and the tuner is again like new.
The PT1 is very accurate. It's easy to use in a noisy area, in bright lights or complete darkness. It works as advertised and is made solid enough for consistant use.
Customer Rating: Summary: I think it's great Comment: I have used mine for a few years now, and think it's great. The other tuners I had were irritating to use.

The Intellitouch PT1 by Onboard Research is a revolutionary portable tuner that attaches unobtrusively to whatever instrument you're playing---acoustics, electrics, even instruments besides guitars. It clamps onto the headstock and responds to the resonating pitch of the instrument. Because Intellitouch tuners don't rely on a microphone to get the pitch of the instrument, you can use them to tune on a loud stage or in any other setting where ambient noise would render mic-based tuners useless. Another nice feature of the Intellitouch tuners is the backlit display--this feature alone is especially nice on a dark stage. You can use one hand to clamp it on and off, but it's a lot easier (and more useful) to leave the tuner in place and fold it back so it's out of the way when not in use. And while the PT1 normally tunes to a standard 440, the reference pitch can be changed such that it can learn and remember a tuning reference from another instrument. It also comes with a carrying case.
